Choose Low-Fat Foods
The liver stores excess fat, and too much fat increases risk of fatty liver disease. Minimize consumption of saturated fat, which is found in beef, lamb, pork, poultry skin, high-fat cheese, butter, whole milk, cream and lard.
Fatty liver disease, also called non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), and its more severe form, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), are conditions caused by fat accumulation in the liver, known as hepatic steatosis.
