Despite high disease burden, MASH is underdiagnosed.

MASLD is often referred to as a “silent disease” because it is usually asymptomatic at early stages. Even when people progress to MASH, they may have few or no symptoms until they develop serious liver complications. MASH diagnosis may involve blood tests, imaging tests and liver biopsies. Some estimates suggest that nearly 90% of people with MASLD or MASH remain undiagnosed.
