In observance of Hepatitis Awareness Month, in May I will post to this blog daily, suggesting ways we can help raise awareness about issues surrounding hepatitis C.

NVHR, along with several cosponsors, is organizing the 2015 Congressional Viral Hepatitis Reception, on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, from 5 pm to 7 pm in Room 325 of the Senate Russell Office Building.
This Hepatitis Awareness Month event will educate Members of Congress and their staff about the hepatitis B and C epidemics and the need for increased leadership and funding to fight the diseases. You can
download a flyer with more information about the reception, the Congressional honorary co-hosts, and the cosponsors.
You can help make this reception a success by urging your Members of Congress and their staff to attend.
How you can help:
Call your U.S. Representative and two U.S. Senators in their Washington, DC offices. You can reach them through the Capitol Switchboard, (202) 224-3121.
Ask to speak to the staff person who handles health care issues. Whether you speak with this staff person live or leave a voice mail, tell him/her:
“My name is ______________ and I live in (city/state). I urge you, Representative/Senator ___________, and others in your office to attend the 2015 Congressional Viral Hepatitis Reception on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, from 5 pm to 7 pm in Senate Russell Office Building, Room 325. This is a great way to learn more about the hepatitis B and C epidemics during Hepatitis Awareness Month. To RSVP, please contact Haley Feaster at events@epiphanyproductions.com.”
If your Member of Congress is listed on the
flyer as a honorary co-host, please thank them for their leadership. If they aren’t listed, please ask them to consider adding their name. They can sign on by emailing Haley Feaster, events@epiphanyproductions.com.
P.S. When I called, I asked for an email address so I could send a copy of the
flyer with more information about the 2015 Congressional Viral Hepatitis reception.
