Many individuals most impacted by hepatitis B and hepatitis C, particularly people of color, have been under relentless attack in the current political environment. Policies and rhetoric that further racial injustice directly impact people living with hepatitis B and C.

NVHR condemns all demonstrations by white supremacists and the failure by many in positions of power to name the specific racist groups responsible for the violence in Charlottesville. We mourn the three individuals who lost their lives on Saturday.

There can be no movement to fight and eliminate viral hepatitis without addressing the hatred aimed at those most impacted. We stand with Charlottesville and all who protest racism and injustice.
