When fighting Hep C we are not helpless. We can aim with precision at Hep C to defeat the Hep C giant. It begins with your mindset, don’t allow thoughts of defeat or hopelessness to take you down. You can face the Hep C giant with determination. Be relentless and preserve. Giving up is NOT an option. Learn how valuable the warrior’s target is.
When I was on day 19 of my Hep C treatment journey, this was my 3rd treatment. The Hep C giant and I were facing off like two gun slingers in the old west. The lesson’s I learned through battling Hep C will forever serve me. Here’s a snippet from the Warrior’s Target.
“Today is Day 19 of my Hep C treatment. Did you know the hepatitis C virus replicates itself every 6 to 7 hours? This is why it is so important to “get in front of it” as my doctor said to me. Every healthy action step you make is a blow to the Hep C giant. And Hep C treatment is where your giant falls. It reminded me of David running toward Goliath. His target!
Max Lucado states in his book, “Facing Your Giants.” “When all others were looking at Goliath saying he was too big to fight. David saw that Goliath was too big to miss.” He put on a warrior’s mentality. He was a giant killer. So am I. So are you.
This morning when I woke up instead of putting on my robe, I put on armor. Warrior’s armor. I chose to aim at my target carefully and assault from all fronts. Incivek, Ribavirin, and Peg Interferon, are my assault weapons, my arrows, my ammo.
With God’s help I’ve been busy slaying all day. There is carnage everywhere. My energy has been up and down today, but not my aim. I’m right on target. I may be taking some hits but I’m loading up for the next round and more determined than ever. I guarantee my fluffy house shoes have turned into combat boots.
Today the battle fatigue is a little better. The past few nights I have dealt with more fever and feeling washed out, along with some ominous colon issues. But God has been good to fortify me with His strength. I am up and swinging.
Thank you God for your word is true, “You are my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in you and I am helped.” Psalm 28:7
The next time you look in the mirror, listen the voice of truth for God is telling you, “YOU are a Giant Killer.” Remember, you are not fighting alone, for He is with you. Through Him you are more than a conqueror.
“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 NLT
Do you hear the fight song in the distance, it’s your song. A warrior’s song. Armor up my fellow Hep C Warrior! Aim with precision at your warrior’s target today.
Now repeat after me, “I am a Giant Killer!” The Hep C giant is going down.
