A bill in the Florida House of Representatives would approve a five-year pilot program in Miami-Dade County to legalize syringe and needle exchange programs, The Miami Herald reports. Representative Mark S. Pafford (D–West Palm Beach) is trying to move bill HB 735 through the Judiciary Committee and the Health & Human Services committee, but time is running out for this legislative session. A similar bill sponsored by Senator Gwen Margolis (D–Miami) has stalled in the Florida Senate.
