There is a slight chance that the hep B or C tests could come back positive, but the chances are low. Hepatitis B is easily spread sexually, and if you contracted it, you would likely have symptoms by now. Hepatitis C is rarely transmitted sexually, except if the sex was bloody or if you are a man having anal sex with a man. Just to be sure, it’s best to get tested at six months after the exposure. You may also want to rule out HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. Vaccination will protect you against hepatitis B in the future.
